Sync & Integration

Does Meridian sync with my Apple Calendar?
Yes. Meridian uses Apple's EventKit framework for deep, native calendar integration. Your existing events from all calendar accounts appear directly within Meridian's date cards — no manual import or third-party sync needed.
Will Meridian overwrite or modify my existing calendar events?
Never. Meridian operates in read-only mode for your Apple Calendar data. It displays your events alongside global holiday information but does not create, edit, or delete any of your calendar entries.
Can I sync events across multiple devices?
Meridian relies on Apple's native calendar sync infrastructure. If your calendar accounts (iCloud, Google, Exchange, etc.) are synced across your devices, the events Meridian displays will be consistent everywhere.

Features & Usage

How many countries can I track at once?
You can add as many countries as you like to your global pool. However, to maintain a clean, high-density daily feed, Meridian displays a maximum of 3 active countries simultaneously. You can swap active countries instantly via the Country Manager.
What does the Daily Feed show me?
Each date card in the feed shows: the date with elegant typography, a multi-country status matrix (holiday/workday/event for each active country), a short cultural or business insight, and a section for personal to-do items. Historical events and fun facts are shown as footnotes.
Can I add personal reminders or to-dos?
Yes. Each date card includes an inline to-do section where you can add quick, context-specific reminders. For example, on a Chinese public holiday card, you might note 'Email supplier about shipping cutoff.'

Privacy & Data

What data does Meridian collect?
Meridian is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect personal data, calendar contents, or location information. Holiday data is bundled locally within the app. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.
Does Meridian require an internet connection?
Meridian works offline for most features. Holiday data and your personal to-dos are stored locally on your device. An internet connection is only needed for initial data updates and blog content.
